Hot Water Heater Repair and Maintenance in NJ

Hot Water Heater Repair is a Job for Pros

Homeowners that attempt their own hot water heater repair may be successful in a temporary repair; however, they may miss other related damages such as corrosion. A hot water heater repair technician would detect corrosion and could recommend possible solutions to the homeowner.

Does Your Water Heater Need Repair?

Very few emergencies will wait for your finances to be prepared, especially not a water heater repair. It might be the lukewarm water coming out of your faucets or even an annoying gurgling sound you hear when you are half asleep, but these signs that your hot water heater is in need of repair should not be put off. Your life will immediately be interrupted by a hot water heater shutdown. Calling a repair technician at the first sign of water heater trouble is imperative.

In the amount of time you spend researching what is causing the problems with your water heater, the time it takes to go to the hardware store to get the parts and the additional time it takes for the repair; a skilled repair technician could be finished with work that is guaranteed. In a water heater emergency, call a trained hot water heater repair professional to save you valuable time and expense.

The plumbers at Brown’s are experienced in all sorts of water heater repair issues, including:

Know When It’s Time to Replace Your Water Heater

How long have you owned your home? Is your water heater the same unit that was originally installed? If you have been in your home for more than eight years and are experiencing a decrease in hot water performance, then you need to have a hot water heater repair specialist inspect the unit. Hot water heaters are fairly simple machines, but the parts inside will eventually need to be replaced.

Repairs will extend the life of your hot water heater, but no amount of repairs will make your water heater last forever. If your water heater is over eight years old, you may need to schedule a water heater replacement. This is a sound judgment because modern water heaters are at the very least 10% more efficient than older models. When this is factored into the price of parts and repair, then it will make sense just to upgrade the water heater to a newer model.

Energy Efficiency

A new energy efficiency mandate from the Department of Energy (DOE) requires all residential hot water heaters to have higher energy factor (EF) ratings, creating a price increase of at least $200 for parts. The “Final Rule” mandate by the DOE includes all gas, oil and electric hot water heaters and took effect on April 16, 2015. All new water heaters installed after that date must comply with the energy mandate.
