About Plates of Love

“I’ve had the pleasure of working in the restaurant industry since I was 16 years old. Anyone that has ever worked in the business knows that it is anything but boring. The people you meet and the personalities that you encounter are endless, and the experience is priceless. I’ve learned so much about people in general from this business.

Over the years, I have seen the amount of food that goes to waste. It has always tugged at my heartstrings knowing that people in our neighborhoods go to bed hungry, and here I was throwing away perfectly good food. With some blind faith, and help from family and friends, Plates of Love was established.

I believe in the goodness of people. Plates of Love is an effort to help spread a little bit of that goodness.” Jessica Johnson, Founder of Plates of Love
